It is a great honour and pleasure for me to be a part of this glorious municipality which has stepped into its 100th year of establishment. Being one of the oldest municipalities of the district, this ULB has witness many changes and achieved many milestones. With the help of active cooperation from it citizen this municipality has always emerged as a capable and robust institute for effective delivery of service and better governance. The fever of rapid urbanization has gripped the entire nation and this ULB with its efficient, dedicated workforce has learnt to cope with this fast transition in providing timely service to its citizen. The socio-economic, cultural atmosphere of this municipality has gone for a change, if not completely and it has imbibed that spirit of contemporary modern civilization into its system with open hands. With the vision to provide basic urban amenities to every household to improve the quality of life, especially the poor and disadvantageous, this ULB has adopted the Government of India scheme, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation & Urban Transformation (AMRUT). The Service Level Improvement Plan (SLIP) has already been prepared adhering to guideline of AMRUT. At present, the main thrust area of the mission AMRUT is the upgradation of green spaces, development of park and recreation centres, especially for children, the rejuvenation plan includes involvement of local citizens in maintenance and up keep of the park developed. During this financial year 5 no. of parks is to be developed.
